February 1, 2013 - Lets Get Tying

After being at the Somerset Show all weekend, the tying urge has set in. The gear is cool and all at the show, but the tiers are where it is at as far as I am concerned! Those guys (and gals) are artists! The patterns they twist up are flat out eye candy. The thing is though, as much as I like to tie with all the new fangled materials I still manage to take it back a notch and tie with the basics. I guess it comes back to what you are comfortable with while on the water. I mean your box can be all pimped out, or you can catch fish. I prefer the latter.

Lately it has been teeny tiny midges. While not a heavily used pattern for me, my box was running low. So it's time re-load! Twist up a dozen and I will be set for years.
